In 2001, my husband and I left for an extended stay in Zanzibar. Back then, we had jobs and that was it. What a difference 7 years make...

Now with a dog, child, career and a business, getting away isn´t as easy as it once was. But we almost need this more than we did then. It was a race getting out of the house with late nighters the week proceeding. Lab orders to send in, final prints to mail out, phone calls to return, and oh, did I mention packing? That part we did the night before. Yes, that was a little nuts.

Now we are in Sevila. One car trip, plane ride, night in Madrid taxi ride and train ride, plus 36 hours. I am amazed at the resillence of my daughter - she travelled without a hitch and is sleeping as if she is home. It´s been nice travelling with someone that needs to nap. I find that it gives me the structure I am used to and can´t cram my day and collapse at night!

The little hotel (http://HotelAmadeusSevilla.com) is wonderful. Big old doors, sunny courtyard, singing birds, and Spanish tile. And tapas bars right around the corner. Life is so good.

I think it´s time to wander the little crooked streets and get lost...

As a mom, I love celebrating these sweet moments. Soon enough this little guy won't be sitting still to be held!

It's been a busy week at the studio with newborns, one year olds and almost twos! And of course a snow storm to make it even more fun!! This little guy just turned one and we had a blast running and chasing each other around the studio. Tomorrow, I have an engagement session with a couple and their dog - should be just like any session with a one year old!! :)

P.S. There's only one session left for the rest of the month (next Tuesday morning). After that, I will be booking sessions for the last week of March and beginning of April.
